Ana Maria Cristina Polo Gonzalez was born in Havana Cuba. Her family relocated to Miami at 2 years old. The actress attended Florida International University and graduated with a degree in political science. She then earned her PhD in law from The University of Miami. For twenty years, she practiced law in Miami. She received the PhD from the University of Miami, and then practiced for twenty many years within Miami. Polo was first exposed to viewers on television in 2001 on Telemundo's program Sala de Parejas (2001) along with other shows on courts where her expertise in law was utilized.
